Our Story

We're not a big organization. And this site didn't stem from big aspirations.

It started from me telling bedtime stories to my girls. It was another way to disciple them in the Christian faith, but through the wonder of fantasy. Talking animals with real-world problems, both internal and external. That blossomed into the Echoes of Silva Island Series. It's not a New York Times Best Seller, and I doubt it ever will be. But it's been a blessing to the families who've read it. And I'm thankful for that.

Likewise, The Sacred Well came from me not having a consistent family worship cadence. As any parent reading this knows, trying to gather multiple children around God's Word or prayer time or singing…well, it's not easy. Especially when you're trying to include some kind of lesson along with the Scripture reading, or for those in the Reformed tradition, catechism teaching. Thus, The Sacred Well was born, so that I could more easily and consistently have a meaningful Scripture-based, Christ-centered family worship time with my family. To clarify: it's still not easy. But it is easier. And it also, in God's grace, has been much fuller and richer. And the families who have used it have found the same.

In both cases I set out, in prayer, only to disciple my own children. As God allowed these tools to take shape, He also put it on my heart to make them available to other families. And so I offer them to you — if He puts it on your heart as well.

Who knows what the Lord will bring next? Whether more people read these books or use these discipleship tools is in His hands. And whether this ministry grows in the number of families using it, or grows us deeper in the grace and knowledge of our Lord — either way, it is growth. And for that I'm thankful.

"The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches."
